You would be forgiven for thinking solely about gaming when you think about VR. And while VR promises a great deal of excellent gaming experiences, there are some other fields where VR is being used that are less than obvious. We’ve listed a few for you here. VR provides a platform that is both engaging and immersive and allows marketers to communicate their message without any distractions so it makes sense that marketers wholeheartedly embrace this new technology. Virtual Reality has the ability to place its users in certain situations that they would rarely be in in real life. This makes the platform well-suited for education purposes as it gives people the chance to practice how to act in situations before actually being in those situations. VR and art on the surface seem like an odd combination but they don’t have to be. With every new platform that arises people find new ways to both experience and create art with it. Have a look at this virtual tour of the British museum, letting you avoid the crowds altogether:
But Virtual Reality isn’t just for consuming content, it can also be used for creation. Google’s Tilt Brush allows its users to create three-dimensional art all around them:
5. SPORTS EVENTS
Attending sports events can be very exciting, but nothing can put you as close to the action as this VR experience. Red Bull mounted a 360° camera at the top of a formula 1 car so everyone can experience what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat.
VR is also increasingly used to allow viewers to virtually attend live events like basketball games, concerts, and music festivals.
